Pension increase for 2026 has been confirmed at 3.8% with effect from 6 April 2026. If you reached state pension age before 6 April 2016, and you have pensionable service prior to April 1997, part of the your pension increase may be paid within your state pension. Therefore if you did not receive the full 3.8% increase in your LGPS pension, you will receive the remainder of the increase in your state pension.
If you retired between 22 April 2025 - 21 March 2026, then you may only be eligible for a proportion of the 3.8%.
The Pension Section are aiming to implement this increase to pensions and pay any arrears due in the June 2026 pay run.
Deferred Members
Pension increase for 2026 has been confirmed at 3.8% with effect from 6 April 2026. If your pension became deferred in the the year 22 April 2025 - 21 March 2026 then you may only be eligible for a proportion of this increase.
