Pension increase for 2024 has been confirmed at 6.70% with effect from 8 April 2024. If you reached state pension age before 6 April 2016 and you have a pensionable service prior to April 1997, part of your pension increase will be paid within your state pension. Therefore if you did not receive the full 6.70% increase in your LGPS pension, you will receive extra increase in your state pension to compensate. If you retired between 24 April 2023 - 23 March 2024, then you may only be eligible for a proportion of the 6.70%.
The Pension Section are aiming to implement this increase to pensions and pay any arrears due in the June 2024 pay run.
Deferred Members
Pension increase for 2024 has been confirmed at 6.70% with effect from 8 April 2024. If your pension became deferred in the the year 24 April 2023 - 23 March 2024 then you may only be eligible for a proportion of this increase.
